My story
Sometimes, the biggest changes in our lives begin with something as simple as sourdough bread.
My name is Aura Cuervo. I’m half Venezuelan and half Colombian, a wife, a mom of three, and a woman in my beautiful 40s. Before starting this new chapter, I spent about 12 years working in public relations in my home country. Later, I spent eight years as a bilingual Pre-K teacher. Both experiences shaped who I am and the way I connect with people, families, and communities.
I have always been intentional about what I bring to my family’s table. As a mom, I care deeply about what I cook, what I buy, and the ingredients I choose to nourish my family.
In 2025, I participated in a sourdough workshop in my own home. I fell in love with the process and began making our own sourdough bread. What started in my kitchen slowly grew into something much bigger.

I began teaching other women and families how to make their own sourdough bread, and with every class, I found myself building a community of people who were becoming more intentional about what they bring into their homes. After hearing many times, “Why don’t you sell your bread?” I finally decided to take the leap.
In 2026, after eight years as a teacher, I left my job for family reasons and stepped into a new chapter of my life. That’s how Crown Artisan was born.
Today, making sourdough bread is so much more than a business to me. It is a passion and a way to bring love to other families. I love reconnecting with the simplicity of the foods of our ancestors: simple ingredients, traditional processes, and food made with intention.
Every loaf of sourdough bread I make is a small step toward more mindful choices and a table filled with love. And if I can help another mom, another family, make better choices for the people they love, then I feel that I am contributing my little grain of sand.
Crown Artisan was born from my love for my family and has grown into a desire to share that love with many other families.
